TALK@7PM – DR GREG SCORZO IN CONVERSATION WITH ELLA WHELAN

Ella Whelan is the author of the book “What Women Want: Fun, Freedom and an End to Feminism.”

The brave, bold Ella Whelan is a leading voice of a rising generation of young warriors for free speech, which is lamentably threatened from both the left and the right in today’s world.

— Camille Paglia

In this brilliant book, she puts the case for female autonomy against feminist victimhood. Some feminists will no doubt cry ‘anti-feminist!’, but this would be inaccurate; in fact, this book is in the tradition of the Suffragettes, the female explorers, the female workforce and other female pioneers of the 20th and 21st centuries who demanded that society should mine rather than suppress women’s potential. All women and men who value women’s liberation should read this.

— Brendan O’Neill (from the Foreword).

This will be more than just a conversation or an interview. Greg Scorzo will be philosophically interrogating Ella on the subject of Feminism, and whether women’s empowerment should presuppose that women are victims of patriarchy, or that women are free, strong, and capable persons existing in a no-longer patriarchal West. Ella won’t just tell us what she thinks about these issues, but why she thinks what she thinks. They will be critiquing many of the issues raised in her book, which will lead to an audience discussion. After that carry on with some long rambling conversations in the bar.

Ella Whelan is a freelance journalist and author. She regularly appears on Sky News, Any Questions, Question Time, Daily Politics, Channel 4, GMB and others. She has written for the Sun, Conscience, the Spectator, City Am, the IBT, Grazia and others. Her interviews, including Slavoj Zizek, Fiona Shaw, Camille Paglia and Lionel Shriver, are published in the spiked review.
